—— Julia

Y su bueno, necesitamos más:) la hoja de sierra 20x 600m m 20x 800m m 3x 1000m m 10x1200m m.

Understanding Segment Designs in Professional Diamond Saw Blades

The visual appearance of a diamond saw blade is often defined by the shape and layout of the segments on its outer rim. These designs are not for aesthetic purposes but are the result of rigorous fluid dynamics and thermal testing. For professionals working in masonry and road construction the segment design determines how effectively the blade can evacuate dust and manage heat. As a manufacturer we produce several distinct segment types including standard rectangular segments keyhole gullets and teardrop gullets. Each of these serves a specific function in optimizing the cutting experience for different materials and machine types. In this article we will break down the engineering logic behind these various rim configurations.

Segmented blades are characterized by deep gaps between the diamond sections. These gaps known as gullets are essential for dry cutting applications. When a blade cuts through dry brick or concrete it generates a massive amount of fine dust. If this dust is not removed immediately it acts as an additional abrasive that can wear the steel core and overheat the blade. The gullets act as a fan system pulling air through the cut to cool the segments and eject the dust. For heavy duty concrete work we often use keyhole gullets which are wider at the base to prevent cracks from forming in the steel core under high stress. This design is a standard for road saws and large walk behind equipment where the blade must endure hours of continuous high pressure cutting.

In the world of fine masonry and tile work the continuous rim blade is the preferred choice. These blades have no segments which means the diamond concentration is uniform throughout the entire circumference. This design is intended for wet cutting only as it lacks the cooling capacity of a segmented blade. However the reward for using a continuous rim is a perfectly smooth chip free edge on delicate materials like glass tile and porcelain. For contractors who need a balance of speed and finish we offer turbo rim blades. These feature a continuous rim that is serrated or fluted to provide the cooling benefits of a segmented blade while still offering a much smoother finish than a standard deep gullet design.

Beyond the shape of the gullet the height of the segment itself is a major indicator of quality and value. We offer blades with heights ranging from 10mm to 15mm. A taller segment generally provides a longer cutting life but it also requires a more stable steel core to prevent the segment from tilting or vibrating. Our premium blades feature a reinforced core that supports taller segments allowing the user to get more work done before needing a replacement. We also incorporate specialized wear resistant pads on the side of the segments for abrasive materials like asphalt which prevents the undercutting of the steel core. This level of detail in segment engineering is what separates professional grade tools from DIY alternatives.

Choosing the right segment design is a matter of balancing the material hardness with the required finish and the cooling method available on site. We provide a comprehensive guide for all our distributors and end users to ensure they are matching the right rim style to their equipment. Whether you are performing a precision indoor renovation or a massive exterior demolition our diamond saw blades are designed to offer the best possible mechanical advantage. By understanding the science of the segment you can improve your cutting speed reduce tool wear and achieve the high quality results that your clients expect from a professional operation.
